How the X-ray works

A radiographer will call you into the examination room and show you how to stand, sit or lie down. You will remove clothing and metal objects, such as jewellery, from the area being examined. You keep still for a moment while the image is taken. The examination is painless and usually takes only a few minutes.

Is an X-ray safe?

The radiation dose of a routine X-ray is low, and digital technology helps keep it down. The examination is recommended by a doctor who has weighed its benefit.

If you are or might be pregnant, please tell us before the examination.

X-rays for children

We X-ray children of all ages, including newborns. Children come with a referral from their doctor, accompanied by a parent.

When will I get the result?

X-rays taken between 8:00 and 12:00 are reported while you wait, afternoon X-rays the next day. You can have your images burned to a CD for CZK 100.

Insurance and payment

We have contracts with VZP (111), VoZP (201), ČPZP (205), OZP (207) and ZP MV ČR (211). With other insurers you pay on site according to the Ministry of Health price list. Cash only.
